ABOUT US

We are the Bautista family, and we specialize in crafting wool handicrafts, handling everything from sourcing raw materials to the finished product. Our production process involves creating wool items—such as bags, rugs, tapestries, wallets , runners and coin purses—using a pedal loom operated by two pedals and two harnesses. We primarily use sheep's wool along with natural and synthetic dyes. The process begins by washing the raw wool, which comes in the sheep's natural tones of white, gray, and black; from there, our family creates an endless array of hand-dyed colors. Each piece is woven by hand on these looms production time varying based on size and design—ranging from two days of weaving for smaller items to five or six weeks for more complex pieces. In addition to this, we spend a few extra days dyeing the raw material and setting up the loom. Once weaving is complete, we require further time for finishing touches and preparation for the next stage—such as converting the fabric into a bag, coin purse, or cushion—which involves sewing and cutting leather components to assemble the final product.
