Traditional Zapotec Weavings

My name is Marco Bautista, originally from Teotitlán del Valle in Oaxaca, Mexico. At just 8 years old, my parents began teaching me the art of weaving, a craft that has been passed down through many generations in my hometown.  We use large looms with pedals and wool yarn to create both traditional and contemporary textiles and accessories.

After residing in the United States for 10 years, I have now returned to my hometown with my wife and children. Soon I hope to start teaching my oldest daughter to weave as well!

Thank you for your interest in our indigenous culture and traditions.

WEAVING

"Every tapestry we create is a labor of love — woven thread by thread with the same care as tending a garden of iris and wildflowers. At MB Weavings, we believe that creative expression blooms when tradition meets intention. Each piece is made with love, carrying the spirit of the hands that crafted it."
